this summer is going on record for it’s heat waves in July. the area of Tuscany is full of beautiful yellows, browns and all the tan-ocher like shades in-between.
it hasn’t been the best month to turn on the oven and cook. we’ve been making the cooler and lighter dishes like the old bread salad Panzanella and simple crostini appetizers, one of our summer favorite being Bruschetta con pomodori since we have some great looking tomatoes coming out. while visiting brian’s family recently we discovered a twist to the simple bruschetta recipe that uses fresh mozzarella and thinly sliced radish, one we’re thinking of adding as a video recipe.
time to do a “rain-dance”, which is very needed in our garden after 40 hot dry days!
we wish everyone a great summer and thanks to all that have written recently.
and sharing how we make it from our kitchen in florence, italy. we enjoy cooking and learning new recipes and hope you will too. buon appetito, and thanks for stopping by. more
